Had my official 2009 road debut last Thursday and it was terrible. Prior to the ride I had an interesting chain of events that only compounded to the bad ride. First off, I broke off my car key in my trunk lock when I was trying to unlock my bike, secondly I was being held up by a certain individual, I forgot to bring my water bottles and food, and I was in summer gear. All of those factors only added to the misery. We rode the five points course and I was lagging the whole time behind Rich and Duane. It was evident that my winter training was severely limited and Duane and Rich seemed to be in decent condition.
