12 Pack, Jonny C, Jerry and I went to the ECCC championships this past weekend. We scoped out the course Friday evening to look at the terrible 4 mile climb with a 10% grade. The course is probably one of the hardest 24 miles we have ever road. It begins with a 2-3 mile decent that is pretty dangerous, then it levels off until the first climb. After the first climb there is a small straight that heads right into the terrible climb over the mountain. Worst off, the course finishes with a decent into a 90 degree turn.
Highlights of the races:
Saturday Team Time Trial:
Pouring Rain
Poorly Marked Course
Riders from Stevens Institute of Technology taken to the hospital
False Finish
Road Race:
Scary Decent
Noobs wrecked on the decent
Horrible Climb that never ended
Crit:
Rain = Wrecks every lap
Super Fast Pace
11-21 gears suck
Flat tire yet again
Overall:
Need to step up my training
