Duane and I ventured off this morning to Probikes to check out their sale. We left bright and early in order to make sure we were able to get our stuff. I was still up in the air about getting the Cannondale and asked my mother in law for advice. She is an avid tri-athlete and fitness guru so I thought she would have a sensible opinion. When I asked her about the bike, she said that it’s a good idea to get it, and it will only bring fun into my life. Well when we finally arrived, the shop still didn’t open for an hour so Duane and I just sat in front of the store waiting for the opening. This turned out to be a problem because there was a Cannondale 29er sitting in the window. I spoke to Rich last night and he said if I can pull it off then I should go with a 29er. So I thought about it more and more and decided to see what they had on the floor. When the bike opened, a guy came right in and bought the f4, so that option was gone. I asked about a 29er and they had an 08 29er 1 sitting on the floor. They said they would sell it to me for 35% off the original price. Of course Duane wasn’t helping this situation and he was encouraging me to get it. Trust me I wanted the bike and it’s a sweet deal but I didn’t want to clean out my bank. I knew that I would be busy this summer with studying for the qualifiers and won’t be able to have a decent job. So it was either go big or go home. In the end I went home, but left with a sweet buy.
I purchased a set of Vittoria Open Corsa Evo-KS for my 404’s. So now I can sit on my road bike looking at the mtb trials for the whole summer, awesome well at least I can sneak a peek at Sam Morrison Cannondale.
